I'm Frozen

This cold is just awful!  My hands hurt, and I just want to sit next to the fireplace and stay warm.  But it does makes me want to quilt at the same time, so it's good for something. This weekend I will be working on this.

Candy Corn/South of the Border
Quilting on my PR1000E embroidery machine using Amelie Scott's Edge to edge Quilting on your Embroidery Machine method.  I want to get her done or close to done this weekend.  The pattern is from a Norma Campbell's class I took on Saturday September 27, 2014.  It was a fun class with my quilt guild the Southern Comforters of Bowie  http://www.southerncomforters.org and will hang in our annual quilt show March 21, 22, 2015.

I've also got this on my design wall.
Current "Leader/Ender" project

I think it needs two more rows and gray saching strips between the blocks.  For now that is the plan, we shall see.

Happy piecing, Happy quilting,
Sheila

No Retreating

Friday 13, 2015:
Since January 2008 when I became a member of the Southern Comforters of Bowie Quilt Guild I have gone on their yearly retreat during President's Day Week-end.  This year I won't be retreating.  (Sad face)  My man has been working hard since the end of last year,  and has been out of town a lot.  This week he will be home, and I decided I should stay home and enjoy his company. (happy face)  It's also bitter cold outside, and I'm kinda looking forward to staying in.   So with retreating on my mind I have commeted to spending today and as much of the week-end down in the sewing room working on finishing my quilt that will hang in our quilt show this coming March 21, 22, 2015.  And on Monday President's Day will be back to work.  (again sad face)

Saturday 14, 2015 Valentine's Dinner Intermission: Mahi Mahi with mango sauce over jasmine rice.  My man loves to cook, and that works for me.

Pieced Back for Candy Corn/South of the Border
This is what I've got together for the back of Candy Corn/South of the Border quilt. I'm really liking how this is looking, maybe it should be a quilt of it's own?  Nah! Staying with the orignal plan.

So for now it's Sunday, and I have more piecing to do.

Happy piecing, Happy quilting,

Sheila

Half a Week-end with my boys

This past Friday my man, who had been out of town working all week was scheduled to come home.  And daughter #1 was going to a concert with her man, and needed me to keep her two little boy's for the evening.  So for almost 24 hours I got to spend some time with all my boys, minus my son since he is an adult who dosen't live here.   We sang songs, played games, talked, and watched a little TV.

Last month was daughter #1's Birthday and I made her 3 infinity scarf's, then this little guy said he needs a scarf too.

So with this image in mind, off to Joann's I went, and a yard of Olaf fleece was purchased. So here is what I made for both boy's

They like their scarfs.

A perfect fit
The two little boy's went home on Satruday evening.  And today Sunday was a quiet afternoon with my man and our dog.  We went for a nice 4.25 mile walk which we haven't done with all the cold weather, and him working so much.

I finished up the I Spy Quilt, just need to put a label on it, and will take it to it's owner later this coming week.  I will try to post pictures, in the mean time...

Happy piecing, happing quilting,

Sheila
