Please say it ain't so...

Where has the time gone, and where has the summer gone?  I really am sad to see the offical end of summer here already.   Don't get me wrong, I love fall, and love the beautiful Autumn colors, but in my heart I am a summer baby, and enjoy the heat, and all the summer time activities.  Today I started off the morning thinking I had dog training with my pound puppy, but no I was wrong.  Do to the Labor Day week-end PUPS was cancelled.  So since I'm up might as well cook some breakfast.  Then on to a 3 mile walk with my pound puppy, and hint's of fall along our journey.

Bright Red Berries
These berries were found along our path, very rich red.  Can't wait to see how they look in a couple months from now.

My man working around the outside of the house left me no choice, but to head over to DD's and a little pool time.  Enjoying the pool and weather (and no cell phone/camara in the pool)  with my adorable Grandson's was the only thing on my agenda for the rest of the afternoon.

After four hours in the pool (including Adult swims) our merry group headed for home.

Waiting for the regroup
Goodtimes were had by all today.

Tomorrow's schedule is a neighborhood potluck cookout.  Such a lucky family we are.  I will try to take pictures, and blog more about this Labor Day Weekend.

Happy piecing hopefully will be squeezed in sometime this Labor Day Weekend.

Birthday Celebrations...

August 16, 2013:  Summer is winding down...Birthday Celebration's and did I mention, summer winding down? (Sigh)  School for a certain first grader soon to start, and a promised boat ride on the Bay.  Beautiful, unseasonable weather (cooler tempture's) has been here on the East Coast for the past week.  Birthday celebrations, hard one day, FUN the next.

Happy Birthday to Mom!
Happy Birthday to 2nd Grandson
August 18, 2013: The unseasonable weather kept us off the boat ride on the Bay today.  Oh well, summer is coming back Wednesday, they say (please let the weatherman be right)! So lunch with 3 of my favorite people DD, and 2 Adorable Grandsons, and then back to the Mall to exchange some too large pants.  Rainy day so everyone and their Mother were in the Mall = do what we need to do and get out!
On the drive home from the Mall I stopped to take a few photo's of the Sunflowers growing next to the corn fields, and pig farms at USDA.  A cloudy day still can't spoil a late summer Sunflower...

Red, the color of Love.

Yellow.
What's not to love about a Red Sun?
Overcast day, but sunny sunflowers

Sunflowers

Thank you USDA for planting Sunflowers next to the road

Where does the summer go?

Oh, what a weekend!

Life after our vacation is slowly getting back to normal. But this past weekend was just a few summertime must have's.  Summertime gose hand in hand with County Fairs, and in Maryland eating Crabs, and summer 2013 is no different as far as I can tell. My weekend started mid morning on Saturday 8/10/13 when I had to get out of the house (no walk for my, ("in training"American Bulldog),

My beautiful pound puppy! Love, Love, Love!
to head out to meet my daughter and my two most handsome Grandson's for a day at the fair.  Stinky Pigs and Cows, Corn dogs, and bottled water, and did I mention rides?  That was the way we rolled that day! I'm sure I would have more picture's execpt I had no back-up. DD was working at a 31 Vendor booth, so the day was on me and my babies.

Saying "Hello"

Helicopter Ride, round & round!

Front seat passenger on the Helicopter Ride!

After the fair, it was homeward bound for me so I could get ready for a get together with my fabulous friends from High School.  We had been planning this get together since May, and I was really looking forward to it.  When I arrived home I lay down on the bed and fell asleep for a quick 15 minute cat nap (which made me a tad bit late to the gathering!). And then a drive right back out to "very close" to the Fair Grounds I had just spent the better part of the day to meet my "Girlfriends".  Delicious Maryland Steamed Crabs, Beer, Friends, talk, and lots of laughs.
Wheaton Rocks!
One guy friend "crashed" our little get together!  But we didn't mind, much love to the good old day's , and new memories for the future generations.

Happy piecing,
Sheila

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N in the Summertime

Well, it's done, finished, complete, over, in the past, a fantastic, wonderful memory!  A family vacation to remember.  Our first "week 30" down in the history books.  As a wise little 6 year old mentioned to his baby brother "We will come here every year in July...Forever"!

Walk on the Beach
There were lots of adventures, swimming in the pool, playing in the sand, running in the waves, mini golf, rides, arcade game, and Splash Mountain, just to mention a few!  We even rented a movie from Redbox on a rainy Thursday night.

Ready set Go!
My two Grandson's having a wonderful time in the pool at our Time Share.  It was a bit cold for me, Mommy, Auntie, and Uncle, but never too cold for two little boy's.  Cannon Balls, and Belly flops!  Life is good at the beach...
